To the reader:
Hello. A kind-hearted person asked me why, during these extraordinary times of the pandemic, I went to great lengths to establish this free charity center.
Here’s how I responded to him: “I have a special child too, so I understand how difficult it is for families with special individuals. I have been trapped in such a hardship before. Fortunately, I have had many noble and kind-hearted friends, special education teachers, volunteers and social workers around me who helped me a lot.”
A volunteer asked me, “Jacky, why would you go through all this trouble to establish a shelter for the special children and the lonely elderly? Aren’t you afraid of returning to the hardships you experienced before?”
“God ordained me to come out of my suffering was so that I could go and help others out of their suffering too. I have been the beneficiary of others’ kindness in the past, and now I want to extend this kindness to others and keep it going. Just simple as that.”
Remember, more blessed to give than to receive.
